Driven by the vision to position India as a global sporting powerhouse, the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) has entered a groundbreaking partnership with Teamworks to accelerate its Olympic ambitions. By adopting Teamworks’ solutions—Hub, AMS and Recruiting—IIS is harnessing cutting-edge technology to unify performance data, eliminate operational silos, and improve scouting processes across the country to amplify the impact of its high-performance programs.

Our collaboration with Teamworks is a significant milestone in IIS’s efforts to become more data-driven. Their expertise will enhance our ability to gain deeper insights into athlete performance, training design, and day-to-day operations. We believe this partnership will help us push the standards in high-performance sport.” – Manisha Malhotra, President at the Inspire Institute of Sport.

A Vision for Olympic Excellence

The Inspire Institute of Sport, located in Karnataka, India, is a private initiative funded by JSW Sports with an ambitious goal: to drastically improve India’s standing on the Olympic medal table. As Gary Hall, High Performance Director at IIS, puts it:

India finished 77th in the Olympic medal table during Paris. With a population of 1.6 billion—the largest on the planet—we believe there’s massive untapped potential. The Inspire Institute exists to change that narrative.”

Hall brings deep experience from his time with GB Taekwondo, where he helped drive the program from humble beginnings to a world-class medal-winning machine. Now, he’s turning that expertise toward developing combat sports like boxing, wrestling, and judo at IIS, while expanding into athletics, swimming, and rowing.

The Power of Teamworks: Centralizing Performance and Operations

At the heart of IIS’s transformation strategy lies the need to unify complex operations and performance systems. For that, IIS turned to Teamworks.

Teamworks Hub: Streamlining Communication

India’s logistical challenges require an advanced coordination tool—and that’s where Teamworks Hub shines.

Just traveling around India is complicated, never mind organizing international camps and competitions,” said Hall. “Hub helps us manage logistics and communication at scale, across sports and across regions.”

By adopting Hub, IIS has streamlined the way it coordinates athlete schedules, travel, and communications—laying the foundation for efficient operations across its national and international programs.

Teamworks AMS: Elevating Science and Medicine in Sport

While India already possesses talented athletes and capable coaches, Hall emphasized that competing at the Olympic level requires excellence in sports science, medicine, and data systems:

It’s not just coach and athlete anymore. You have to compete on all fronts—science, medicine, data—and Teamworks AMS gives us that backbone.”

Teamworks AMS enables the integration of applied sports science and medical data into a centralized platform, providing a clear view of athlete readiness and health across multiple disciplines. This supports more informed decision-making and long-term athlete development strategies.

We needed to break out of silos, eliminate guesswork and bias, and get back to fact-based logic. Teamworks AMS helps us do that.”

The partnership extends well beyond IIS. As part of the JSW Group—the world’s second-largest steel manufacturer—IIS operates within a wider ecosystem of professional sports teams and high-impact initiatives. JSW Group places a strong emphasis on sport, both as a tool for community development and as a driver of elite performance.

Established in 2012, JSW Sports has become a key player in shaping India’s sporting culture, with a mission to unlock and maximize the full potential of Indian sport at every level.

JSW owns Bengaluru FC (Football), Haryana Steelers (Kabaddi), Soorma (Field Hockey), and IIS,” Hall explained. “We’re now rolling out Teamworks AMS across all these teams, creating an integrated performance and data network.”

This unified approach will enhance collaboration and elevate performance management across the entire JSW Sports portfolio.

Looking Ahead to 2028

With the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 on the horizon, the clock is ticking. But with Teamworks, IIS is equipped with the tools it needs to pursue excellence.

We’ve got a real opportunity not just to take part in the next Games, but to win gold medals,” said Hall. “That’s only possible with an underpinning system like Teamworks that can turn data into winning insights.”
