A bleeding edge front office is taking shape in Fort Worth, and TCU now has the data to build it.
TCU is entering its fifth season under Sonny Dykes with as much momentum as it has had since the 2022 national title game run. A 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl win in 2025 put the Horned Frogs back in the Big 12 title conversation, and a retooled offense behind Harvard transfer Jaden Craig and new coordinator Gordon Sammis has the program pointed at the College Football Playoff. Now the personnel department building that roster has the platform to match the ambition. TCU has selected Teamworks Player Personnel.
The move gives Assistant General Manager Tyler Olker and his staff a single system for evaluating a roster in a conference with sixteen programs and almost no margin for error.
“We’re going to use Teamworks Player Personnel in three ways: self-scout, advanced scout, and the transfer portal,” Olker says. “In the past we’ve had to keep those pieces of our scouting process in different places. Player Personnel is going to bridge all of that into one spot, and it’s going to become something that binds everything we do together.”

“Being able to tie everything into one place, build reports, and look at all of our data without switching systems is the competitive advantage” Olker says. “The advanced data in the system helps too, but the biggest thing for us is the simplicity of having it all live in one place.”
Built for a Growing Department
College football personnel departments have scaled up fast, and TCU’s is no exception. Keeping a larger staff aligned across scouting, recruiting, and communication is its own challenge, one Olker sees Player Personnel helping to solve.
“Our department has grown to four assistant DPPs, a GA, myself, a general manager, and an athletic director for personnel, plus two staffers on campus recruiting,” Olker says. “Keeping everyone on the same page across Player Personnel, our recruiting database, and recruiting communication, and having those systems work together, creates a lot of efficiency. There’s a lot to do: scouting our own team, scouting our opponents, scouting high school players. As these departments keep expanding, a platform like this is what lets our staff keep up.”

In the past that meant casting a wide net and filtering down over time, maybe starting with a hundred names. Now we can get to a list of fifteen or twenty right away that our coaches can review instantly.”
