That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Nick Malouf, a three-time Olympian, record-breaking rugby player, and passionate advocate for high-performance sport, to the Teamworks family.
A Career Built on Rugby Excellence
Nick’s journey in sport is nothing short of remarkable. He debuted for the Australian Men’s Sevens team at just 19 years old, quickly falling in love with the unique style of the game—its intensity, physicality, global travel, and electric atmosphere.
Over more than a decade-long professional career, Nick became one of Australia’s most decorated Rugby Sevens players. Some of his accomplishments along the way include:
- Captained Australia to its first ever World Series title, the proudest moment of his career.
- Lifted the trophy at the iconic Hong Kong Sevens, something every 7’s player dreams of doing
- Represented Australia at three Olympic Games—Rio, Tokyo, and Paris—serving as captain for the latter two.
- Experienced elite competition beyond sevens, playing in the UK Premiership for Leicester Tigers and in Super Rugby with the NSW Waratahs.
Nick’s time on the pitch was defined not only by personal achievement but also by his dedication to leading, inspiring, and helping teammates perform at their very best.
Life Beyond the Olympics
During his playing days, Nick completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland. When he retired at the conclusion of the Paris Olympics, he wanted to challenge himself in a completely different environment to sport and joined The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Yet, despite enjoying his time in banking, Nick’s passion for sport never faded:
“As much as I enjoyed my time at the bank, I’ve known since I was a kid that my true passion lies in sport, and I’m so excited to be back in that environment.”

For Nick, joining Teamworks is a natural step. Having spent his career in elite sporting environments, he knows how vital it is for teams to work seamlessly:
“I’ve lived both sides of it. A smooth, streamlined approach can make a huge difference to players’ wellbeing and performance. Towards the end of my career, I found real joy in helping other players maximise their potential, and Teamworks’ mission is doing exactly that.”
Nick brings the unique perspective of someone who has used Teamworks technology whilst performing as an Athlete at the highest level. He understands what they need, what drives them, and how the right tools can unlock their full potential.
