How Jerónimo Amalfi, Team Manager at Stade Français Paris, Gained Club-Wide Buy-In to get the whole club under one platform. 

Jerónimo Amalfi, Team Manager at Stade Français Paris and Andrew Trimble, former Irish International Rugby player, joined to discuss ‘Challenges Faced by Team Operations Manager’ in a Teamworks Behind-The-Scenes Webinar Series.

In this webinar, Jerónimo explained how he gained club-wide buy-in to change ongoing systems in less than a year, and shared some of his best practices for Teamworks Hub.

Jerónimo’s journey to streamlined planning and communications throughout Stade Français Paris has not been as straightforward as some might expect. Recalling a time when he would send at least 30 emails to every 1 travel fixture, he joked that Hub has quite literally changed his life as a Team Manager. 

Then: Operations Life Before Teamworks Hub

With Jean-Bouin Stadium in use for events like Paris Fashion Week and football fixtures, it’s not just the club’s own rugby and commercial activity Amalfi needs to cater for, but sometimes the needs of the greater city. He highlighted, “We don’t have much space here in Paris, we need to use the space we have to the best of our abilities. We need to be effective in how we schedule everything. Those were kind of the problems that we had last season.”

Before finding Hub as a solution, Amalfi and his team would keep track of email threads and WhatsApp conversations to track the club’s internal and external planning and communication which led to inefficient time management and inconsistent communication.

Now: One Club, One Platform With Hub 

When the club decided it was time for a change, it was all or nothing. Shedding light on the sheer gravity of organising the club’s cross-functional departments, 1st team and academies, Amalfi needed everyone to adopt Hub to make sense of the amount of activity happening across the stadium.

Having already implemented Hub across the coaching staff before preseason started, when the time came for players to return, the coaching staff was already bought in. By removing communication channels like email and WhatsApp, players had relied on Teamworks as their information source. For recruits joining the team for the first time, having had no previous connection with returning teammates, they had to go through Hub for all information and instruction.

Each function throughout the club created master calendars on Hub so all departments had access to the ever-evolving schedule at Stade Français Paris. This coordination between departments is consolidated with real-time Hub displays on every computer desktop homepage and throughout IPTVs in the stadium; everyone has a point of reference to what’s going on in the stadium.

The Stadium’s schedule is posted daily using Hub Digital Displays throughout the stadium.

How far does ‘One Club, One Platform’ extend? 
Even on the road, Hub is powering how Stade Français Paris operates. Amalfi’s staff of 5 will allow permission-based access to the team’s travel agents to plan for the season’s away fixtures or any other commitments that might require travel. As an admin user, Amalfi ensures the athlete’s privacy and personal information is protected by sharing only the relevant information with the travel agency they use to plan through Hub.
